Prof. Michael Rogers from the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences, Rochester Institute of Technology come to work with the sudents of the Master of Glass Art and Science. He gave three lectures, one in the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, other in the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Universidade do Porto and another in the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Universidade de Lisboa.

Prof. Carlo Pantano and Prof. David Babb, two scientists from Penn State University gave lectures and seminars to the students of the Master and workshops on introduction of glassblowing and lampwork. The workshops were open to students of art and also of science from other Universities. One lecture was open to the public.

Chris Taylor from the Rhode Island School of Design, was working with the students of the Master. He gave one lecture which was open to the public.

For the first time the application of luminescent glass under UV light to a glass object with reticello decoration was made. This object shown below was made by Christopher Taylor with the help of Robert Wiley.

Jutta-Annette Page, PhD, the Curator of the Glass Collection of the Museum of Art of Toledo, was teaching Glass History to the students of the Master. She gave a lecture open to anyone interested at the campus of Caparica of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Two other lectures were given at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the "Universidade do Porto" and at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the "Universidade de Lisboa".

John Parker is Professor Emeritus of Glass Science and Engineering in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, the University of Sheffield, UK. He gave one lecture entitled "Glass Colour and Art: Optical Absorption Spectroscopy in Glass" and a Tutorial on Stained Glass.

David Martlew, who got is degree in Doctor of Philosophy in 1980 at Sheffield University is a glass technologist who after over forty years working in the flat glass industry is now retired and therefore free to pursue interests in the area of the history and heritage of glass and glassmaking. He gave the following lectures:"A historical view of the development of glass making furnaces from antiquity to the present time" and "Usefulness of observing glassmaking defects if one is seeking to conserve glazing in ancient buildings"

Dedo von Kerssenbrock-Krosigk, PhD, is head of the Glasmuseum Hentrich, Stiftung museum kunst palast, in Dusseldorf, Germany. He gave to the students lectures about the history of glass. A seminar open to anyone interested was given.

Marco Verità, Prof. at the University of Venice, gave two lectures to the students of the Master. A seminar on Venetian Glass was open to anyone interested.
